About The Next Stop

The Next Stop is a transit podcast based in Toronto, Canada. We’re two nerds from Toronto who care deeply about transit, and want you to care too.

And what better way of caring than a transit podcast! 😀

We acknowledge that we are settlers. The The Next Stop podcast is produced on the territory of the Anishinaabe, the Haudenosaunee, the Wendat, and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation under the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Treaty. The Treaty binds everyone to share the territory and protect the land, and we will strive to apply these principles to our work. We also welcome all those arriving who have been displaced by global conflict and climate change.

Music

The opening theme and transitional music of The Next Stop podcast is from “Transit Center” by Podington Bear, licensed by CC BY 4.0.

Mission

To explain and demystify transit in Toronto and beyond.

Vision

We will make it fun and interesting to think and talk about transit.

We will deliver well-researched, informative content where listeners will always learn something new about transit.

We will break down complex transit issues in an accessible, easy to understand manner.

We will create inclusive spaces for diverse voices in transit, and encourage stories from those who self-identify on the basis of any of the protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code.

We will advocate and support a New Deal for Transit: A non-partisan, national coalition, calling for sustained operational funding of public transit across Canada from the federal government and respective provincial governments.
